Chris from CM Works completed a submission form on the Logon.ni website and was contacted by a member of our team who arranged for Chris to receive a free consultation.
During this meeting Logon.ni assessed the current uses of ICT within the business. Chris explained to the Logon.ni adviser that the services that the business provides have now changed and evolved much more than the website currently reflects, as a result the website is out of date and they are unhappy with the design and optimisation of the site. They also have a new product which is in design stages and they plan to include an ecommerce element to a new website to retail this online.
Logon.ni advised on the benefits of using a website designer and points to consider when consulting with a new website designer on the content and design of their new website. Logon.ni advised that they should consider what they want the website to do for the business and what image they want the website to portray. The advisor also helped CM Works to research Northern Ireland based website designers to contact and discuss their requirements with and provided general pricing information for different types of website. This provided a price guideline to help them make an informed decision on a new website designer.
The advisor then went on to provide information on how best to optimise their current website whilst they are in the design stages of their new website. Firstly Logon.ni explained that a Google Local Business Centre listing was an inexpensive and easy way of getting the company name and website up on the first page of Google. Following on from the discussion about the company website, advice was provided to the client on how to check websites for keywords and where to check the page source information by viewing the source code of two of their competitors’ well optimised web sites.
Logon.ni demonstrated that inputting the correct keywords and Meta tags differently for each page of their website greatly improves the chances of their website getting ranked higher by the search engines. Using keyword finding websites was also brought to client's attention which was demonstrated to the client for use in their own website.
Since meeting with Logon.ni, CM Works have now begun to implement these techniques to market their website. These search engine optimisation principles have given CM Works a basic knowledge of how to optimise their website now and in the future when their new website is developed.
