The Cut is a men-only barber shop based on Omagh High Street. Normally business was gained through ‘word of mouth’ and their good reputation, but recently they have felt they needed to exploit the internet and use it as a marketing tool to increase their presence to a wider market.
The Cut was looking for a low cost web site solution to suit the business. They were invited to attend a free web training workshop at the Logon.ni Demonstration Centre in Omagh which provided them with details on various low cost web site options. The Cut was then able to make an informed decision and selected the best package for their requirements and budget. They chose to use Microsoft Office Live Small Business and received instruction on how to build a site from scratch, what content the site should have, who their target market was and how to use and maintain their site effectively.
With the help of Logon.ni The Cut has registered a domain name and their website is now up and running, providing the business with a much needed web presence. They have also been instructed on how to maintain and update the web site to include links and other media related content.
The Cut also requested additional information on how to create a logo for the site. Logon.ni showed The Cut how to load content and use the reporting tools that were included in their chosen web design package. They were also informed how the content of the new website should be optimised using keywords and meta tags, and showed how by doing this, it would enable internet search engines like Google, to find their business.
At present their business is the only barbers in Omagh with a live web site promoting their services and The Cut believe it is giving them the edge over the competition in Omagh and wider afield.
“As a small business, The Cut is very grateful for the advice and assistance given by log on.ni. Without your help we would not have had the confidence to approach getting a web presence. I would highly recommend them as they showed patience and for understanding the needs of the business.” – Sean Kelly
