Rankin Carmichael (Mechanical Services) Limited was established in 2002 by joint owners, Tom Rankin and Lambert Carmichael.
The company were finding it more and more challenging to get their name and services advertised and promoted to new customers further afield, rather than just around local areas. They also needed a low cost solution to target a new, wider customer base.
Following a visit from a log on.ni Field Advisor to discuss the above issues the company was facing; Elizabeth Rankin attended a Free “Beginners Website Building” class at the log on.ni demonstration centre in Omagh.
During the workshop session clients were given a presentation on several low cost self build website options. These included Mr Site and smallbusiness Office Live. Elizabeth chose to use Office Live to build the company website with the help and guidance of the log on.ni advisors.
Since attending the workshop Rankin Carmichael (Mechanical Services) Ltd now has a live website. With their new website the business is now able to:
- Save money on printed marketing material by referring customers to their website.
- Attract new contract opportunities by way of optimising their keywords which allow potential clients to find them quickly and easily on major search engines like Google.
- Communicate with new and existing clients about their services.
- Expand their current market in a cost efficient manner, i.e. advertise their services quickly and cheaply via the internet.
- Position themselves ahead of competitors in their sector who are without an Internet presence.
- Gather potential clients’ details via their website through their online feedback forms.
"The website building class I attended was first class, I didn’t expect to grasp as much as I did in such a short time but it’s easy when you are guided in the right direction. It’s amazing how quickly I picked it up."
